Ruto disclosed that he had come into an agreement with the Saudi Arabian government to export 2500 skilled labourers next week.

The head of state said there would no longer be opportunities for domestic workers alone but also for caregivers such as nurses and other professionals.

"I have travelled around the world, and we have secured employment opportunities because Kenyans are known to be hardworking wherever they go. Just yesterday, we reached an agreement with Saudi Arabia to ensure that our nurses and skilled labour can now work there. In the past, it was only domestic workers, but now we can export skilled labour to Saudi Arabia and other countries.
They have offered us the first 2,500 positions this week. Now, I am looking for people who will go and seek employment, and the salary is substantial, approximately KSh 200,000," he stated.

How will the workers to Saudi Arabia be selected?

Ruto disclosed that he would leave it to the Ministry of Labour to make the necessary arrangements for Kenyans to apply for the jobs.

The head of state added that he is committed to providing Kenyans with job opportunities in various fields locally and internationally.

"The Ministry of Labour will make an announcement. It is my intention to ensure that we connect Kenyans to opportunities to work in Kenya and global," Ruto added

Ruto's job plans for Kenyans

Earlier, Ruto's administration set plans to create employment opportunities for Kenyans.

Ruto maintained that his foreign trips would bear fruit, creating jobs for unemployed youths in the country.

In October 2023, the head of state revealed that his trip to Saudi Arabia would see more than 350,000 Kenyans secure job opportunities.
