Mondie's passion for music has been evident for about two years, during which he has diligently invested his hard-earned money to execute his creative projects.
Drawing from his earnings as a water vendor, he saved KSh 30,000 to fund his first music venture.
"I have been in the game for about two years, but I'm hopeful I will succeed. I want to be like Diamond Platnumz. My first project cost me around KSh 30,000. That was my saving from my hustle. However, I have never earned a single coin from music," Mondie said.
Financial struggles
Mondie has encountered obstacles that are all too familiar for aspiring musicians in his quest to achieve stardom.
He recounted how one of his songs was initially rejected by a producer but was later sold to a renowned singer.
Yet, amid such setbacks, the ambitious artist remains resolute in his pursuit of success, confident that he will eventually overcome these challenges and rise to prominence.
"Upcoming artistes face lots of challenges. I remember when a producer rejected one of my songs but later sold the song to a renowned singer," he added.
Mondie says mum warned him against ladies
Regarding his personal life, Mondie is committed to prioritising his career before venturing into relationships.
The Detonator hitmaker stated that he has never been in a romantic involvement and intends to focus solely on achieving celebrity status and enhancing his parents' lives before considering dating.
"I have never been in a relationship and I am not planning to be in one any soon. I will only date after achieving celebrity status and helping my parents. My mother warned me to stay away from women if I want to go far because some of them can kill your dream," he said.
Embu musician dumped for wearing bling
Elsewhere, another artiste from Embu disclosed that his first wife left him after villagers accused him of being a cult member because he wore bling.
In an interview with TUKO.co.ke, Kenvo West said his parents threatened to disown him because they had been told by the naive villagers that their son could sacrifice them.
"One day I went to my home while wearing bling. I caught everyone's attention, and villagers accused me of joining a cult after I left. This made my wife leave. Even my parents were alarmed and they warned me never to go back home in funny attires," Kenvo said.
