The politician stayed low-key since exiting office and kept off the anti-government protests led by ODM Party leader Raila Odinga, citing health reasons.
However, one thing remained constant-his flashy lifestyle.

On Thursday, July 27, Joho offered a glimpse of his day, which many Kenyans can only dream about.
He shared an Instagram story showing him sparring with his boxing coach in his well-manicured compound.
Joho impressively threw jabs at the trainer while ducking mock punches. The two trained in an outdoor space showing a well-trimmed lawn and an expansive piece of land in the distance.
The retired politician wore a vest, cap, and sneakers for the session.
After the training, Joho posted an up-close image of a giraffe inside his compound.
Joho followed it up with a clip of the towering mammal walking towards him as he moved back.
Numerous workers were seen watching him.
A huge swimming pool was also seen in the distance, but he ended the clip before showing his mansion.
However, the footage showed a makuti gazebo beside the pool and a breathtaking sunrise in the distance.
Inside the Kiunas' Runda mansion
In other news, TUKO.co.ke reported that Allan and Kathy Kiuna are among the wealthiest preachers in Kenya.
The Kiunas own a mansion in Runda that would give any tycoon a run for their money.
The humongous house features multiple sections with two and three stories. A tarmacked driveway leads to the front of the majestic home finished in yellow and cream colours.
The front of the house features a shed where guests can alight from vehicles and enter the house while protected from the elements.
The Kiunas' residence also features a massive swimming pool with numerous lounge chairs. The house sits on a sizeable piece of land in the upscale neighbourhood.
