Naivasha - A family is devastated after death robbed them of their kin days after she had completed her university education.

Natasha Wangari graduated from Africa Nazarene University on July 28 this year but would die a week later in a road crash.

Deadly road crash in Naivasha

According to sources, Wangari was among the fatalities of a road crash in Naivasha.

She was in the company of others while en route to Nyahururu to celebrate their friend's graduation party.

Sources further indicate that the accident involved a bus and a personal vehicle in which Wangari was onboard with three others; they all perished.

Her mother Josephine Gakii who confirmed the sad news could not help grieving as she recounted the fun times they had had as they celebrated Wangari's educational milestone.

"Just a week after graduation you are no more. Someone tell me where to start. Sioni maana ya kuishi without you baby girl. Life is now meaningless without you. Lord why me...Why her, the only one I had? This pain. I can't handle," she mourned.

Shattered dreams

The now-deceased was among the 43 Nazarene University 2023 finalists who graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce with the Accounting Option.

Before her untimely demise, Wangari's graduation fete was organised to celebrate her highest educational milestone.

Her mother now contends with the sad reality that her only child won't achieve her desired greatness after arming herself with the ticket in the form of her academic credentials.

Separately, two learners died in the Olulunga area in Narok county after two matatus collided on the afternoon of Tuesday, August 8.

Narok road crash

Information shared on social media indicated that the matatus collided head-on at Olulunga along the Narok- Kaplong highway.

At least eight people sustained serious injuries after the chilling collision.

Road safety agency Sikika said one of the matatus had school children on board as primary and secondary institutions around the country close for the second term.
