Siaya - ODM leader Raila Odinga's wife, Ida Odinga, has criticised Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome over his stand on alleged police brutality.
Speaking during the Inter-Denominational Requiem Mass for 12 victims of police brutality from Siaya county at Bondo Stadium, Mama Ida castigated the IG for failing to take action against police officers who killed protesters.

Ida said if IG Koome fails to take action against the culprits, he would be taking the country in the wrong direction.
“If you don’t arrest them, if you don’t parade them, if you don’t take them to court, you are taking this country to the dogs,” Ida said.
She warned that Kenyans might be forced to protect themselves from police officers who have allegedly resorted to using weapons against 'peaceful' anti-government protesters.
"We can't have a lawless country where the government is in charge of killing, the police are in charge of killing and nothing happens," she added.
Koome claims Azimio hired bodies
Her sentiments come a few days after IG Koome accused Azimio of stage-managing bodies to paint the police in a bad light.
During a media brief on Tuesday, August 8, at Kiganjo Police Training College, the IG stated that they had intelligence on political leaders compromising morgue attendants.
He alleged that the leaders posted the hired dead bodies and claimed the police killed them.
"The information I have is that they go to mortuaries, compromise the workers, their; people who died of some illness, maybe an accident. They take photographs of such bodies and blame them on the police. But we're not in the business of always responding to politicians. Ours is to discharge our mandate.
"We' seen in the recent past and very unfortunate. Senior members of the society going to mortuaries, hiring dead bodies and calling the media, telling media that the people were killed by police officers. How low can some of our leaders sink? They take pictures of the bodies and dispatch them all over social media," Koome claimed.
