In a heart-rending incident that has garnered widespread attention, a wellwisher expressed deep frustrations after her attempts to extend a helping hand to a young boy were allegedly met with resistance.

Wellwishers show up to help boy in viral video

The boy, Vincent Mulwa from Ndalani Boys High School, had gained prominence in a viral video that captured him fervently engaged in prayer.

The wellwisher, identified as Rish Kamunge, a content creator and upcoming Kikuyu Gospel artist, narrated the incident in a TikTok video claiming she met resistance from the school principal.

"Ndalani secondary school principal, why are you a dream killer...The child does not even have proper accommodation,' she captioned her video.

According to Kamunge, a foreign benefactor associated with her program had expressed the desire to pay Mulwa's school fees directly to the school, ensuring he could continue his education without financial constraints.

However, their efforts were reportedly thwarted by the school principal, who refused any offer accorded to the boy.

School to be paid direct to the school account

In the TikTok video shared on her account, Kamunge revealed that she was not the only individual who was turned away by the school authorities.

Another well-wisher, who intended to donate shoes to the boy, was also denied access to the school premises.

Kamunge further highlighted the specific approach of some foreign donors who prefer to pay for essential services directly rather than offering cash.

In this case, the benefactor within her program wanted to sponsor the boy's school fees to secure his education.

Regrettably, the principal reportedly raised objections, citing that the boy had participated in a weekend challenge that somehow impacted the school's decision.

Boy's father says family is riddled with debts

"But when well-wishers come, you say, 'If the parents had money to bring him to school, they should have money to educate him.' Some teachers are even willing to pay the fees," she added.

Following the incident, TUKO.co.ke reached out to the boy's father, Francis Kioko Mulwa, who confirmed the family's challenging circumstances.

The Mulwa family hails from a humble background and is burdened with debts with no stable place to live.

Francis, a labourer by profession, has been financially strained, especially after his wife's prolonged hospitalisation at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) in 2022.

While a part of the hospital expenses was covered by the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF), Francis is still struggling to raise over KSh 60,000 required for the outstanding bills.

Father hope's principal will let wellwishers help son

Additionally, he has a daughter who recently sat her KCSE exams but is unable to collect her certificate due to a fee balance of over KSh 60,000.

The young boy at Ndalani Boys High School, identified as Vincent Mulwa, is currently in Form One and has an outstanding school fees balance of over KSh 34,000.

In light of the school principal's reported reluctance to accept external assistance, Francis Mulwa hopes that the principal would at least permit his son's transfer to a different school, ensuring his education is not hampered.

The incident has stirred public outcry, with many expressing their support for Vincent Mulwa's education and urging the school authorities to reconsider their stance.

Efforts to reach the school principal for comments on the matter were not successful at the time of reporting.

Video of Mulwa praying warms hearts online

Mulwa had earlier stirred up a whirlwind of reactions online with his awe-inspiring prayer.

With a fervent spirit, the student from Ndalani high school in Machakos County bowed his head, immersing himself in the sacred realms as if beseeching the heavens to unveil their divine blessings upon him.

His sincerity profoundly moved netizens, and his devotion was exhibited during his prayer.

His actions spoke volumes, capturing the hearts of many who witnessed this spiritual spectacle.
