Lieutenant Colonel Jonathan Koima, the overseeing recruitment officer, provided insights into the allocation of positions among the recruits.
The successful candidates included five individuals selected for the Kenya Army, two for the Air Force, and one fortunate applicant securing the Cadet position.
Recruits asked to take care of their health
Koima emphasised the integrity of the selection process and cautioned potential recruits against falling prey to fraudulent agents posing as representatives of the KDF.
Addressing the freshly selected recruits, Koima underscored the significance of safeguarding one's health throughout their military journey.
He also advised the recruits to steer clear of alcohol consumption and to adopt healthy lifestyle practices.
According to him, comprehensive medical evaluations would be conducted upon admission to the training centres, ensuring their physical preparedness for the tasks ahead.
As the Busia recruitment phase concludes successfully, the KDF is gearing up to repeat the process in Amukura, situated in Teso South Sub County.
Man who's attempted 11 times to Join KDF locked out
On Monday, August 28, thousands of Kenyans trooped to the KDF recruitment centres to take a shot at joining the military as the nationwide recruitment exercise kicked off.
Day one of the recruitment took place in several centres across 31 counties, which are part of the 374 recruitment centres across the 47 devolved units.
Citizen TV reported that the youths showed up at the recruitment centres early in the morning, ready to showcase what they had to offer.
For most, a chance to join the military was a childhood dream, but some, like Kelvin Muriithi, left the recruitment centres disappointed after being shown the door on his 11th attempt at joining the KDF.
