She has also expanded her business, managing additional yards in Nyeri County and Kondele in Kisumu county.
She revealed that some of the most sought-after commodities among Kenyans are utensils, especially during the summer when people engage in home cleaning activities, followed closely by shoes.
To meet her customers' demands effectively, Jane even offers preorders, a testament to her dedication to excellent customer service.
The genesis of Jane's successful shipping business can be traced back to her personal experiences.
While living in Belgium, she noticed that the appliances she bought abroad lasted much longer than those purchased in Kenya.
This revelation sparked an idea, and she decided to ship her belongings back to Kenya.
Witnessing the demand for quality goods from abroad, she soon realised the business potential in providing this service to others, and thus, Jamric Shipping was born.
Jane's journey was not without its challenges, but her relentless work ethic and passion have been the driving forces behind her success.
Living abroad taught her valuable life lessons, emphasising the importance of hard work and gender equality.
In Belgium, she experienced a society where both men and women were expected to perform heavy tasks, fostering a strong work ethic within her.
Regarding her business philosophy, Jane emphasised the significance of honesty and doing things correctly.
"Living abroad imenifundisha kufanya kazi, heavy jobs. Hapa hakuna kazi ya mwanamke na mwanaume. Because we have gender equality. Kama ni bill ni nyinyi wawili mnalipa so I work extra hard...You do everything with your own hands. There are no househelps. It's different from home because at home you have people around," she said.
" In business, you have to be very, very honest. You have to do it the way it is supposed to be done or you will be getting yourself in a deep hole, and you will not get out of it again," she added.
She believes cutting corners would only lead to detrimental consequences for her business and reputation.
Her commitment to integrity has undoubtedly contributed to building trust with her customers over the years.
Having been in the shipping business for over a decade, Jane now handles a maximum of two containers each month.
Her business acumen and her dedication to customer satisfaction have propelled her to great heights of success.
Jane's journey to success started when she arrived in Belgium as a visitor in 1999. She later got married and settled there in 2003.
Initially, the language barrier limited her job options, leading her to work as a househelp. However, she refused to be limited by circumstances and decided to embark on her entrepreneurial journey.
While managing her business and working as a househelp simultaneously, Jane's determination and hard work eventually paid off, and she reached a point where her business demanded her full attention.
Consequently, she made the tough decision to quit her job as a househelp to focus solely on growing Jamric Shipping.
In her pursuit of success, Jane recognised the importance of language proficiency in her adopted country.
As a result, she took the initiative to study French, one of the languages spoken in Belgium.
This decision proved instrumental in her business and personal life, facilitating better communication and understanding with her customers and the local community.
