Kirinyaga - Police in Gichugu Constituency, Kirinyaga County, have launched investigations after the body of a male adult was found dumped in the Njuki-ini forest.
Why police could not identify the deceased
The women who had gone to the forest to collect firewood on Thursday, August 31, discovered the mutilated body of a male adult before alerting police.

The police boss said there is a high chance that the victim was killed at a different location before his body was dumped in the forest.
"We haven't been able to identify the body since its face was badly disfigured. The man's hands were also severed," said Ndirangu.
Ndirangu called for patience among residents as detectives continue with the investigations into the incident that shocked many residents.
The deceased's body was moved to Kerugoya County Referral Hospital mortuary for storage pending identification and post-mortem.
Missing Kirinyaga man found murdered
Still in Kirinyaga, a family was devastated after learning that their kin who had gone missing was murdered.
The now-deceased, Patrick Macamba, 45, went missing last week with his family initiating the efforts to locate him.
Citizen Digital reported that Macamba's body was dumped in the Murinduko area before being ferried to a morgue in Kerugoya.
According to the family, the man must have succumbed to injuries of a physical attack going by the visible wounds on his head and neck.
“We were told by the mortuary attendant he had an injury on his neck when his body was brought here by police officers. We suspect he was killed by unknown people,” said Simon Kathuri, the deceased's brother.
Police immediately launched their probe into the incident.
