Kisumu - A mother from Kisumu's Manyatta Estate is living in anguish following the disappearance of his teenage son.
Wesley Blessing Otieno, a Form 3 student at Maseno School, was reportedly last seen on Monday, July 24, presumably within the school compound.
In an interview with Nation, the mother said she was called by the school's deputy principal and informed that her son had run away from school.
She narrated that the call kickstarted frantic efforts by the family to locate the young man who the school claimed was found stealing in a Form 4 dormitory.

The mother said since the fateful day, she's yet to find her son, and both the school and police are not giving her any updates.
"I am the mother of the missing child. I received a call on Monday, July 24, in the morning from deputy Maseno, saying that my child had gone missing from school. I had to leave my home and go to Maseno School. Upon arriving at Maseno School, I was told that my child was found as if he was trying to steal from the Form 4 dormitory. When those people saw him he ran away and jumped. So from then until today, I haven't seen my child, and I haven't heard any news.," she said.

She explained that when she got information on her son's disappearance, she filed a report with the Masenon Police Station.
The police accompanied her to the school, where they waited at least an hour before meeting the deputy principal.
A pupil told them that he found Blessing carrying books and crocks in the Form 4 dormitory.
Blessing reportedly explained to the student that he was helping the Form 4s before he slipped through his grip and ran away.
"The student said he found Wesley Blessing with other books and crocs (shoes). He asked Wesley what he was doing in the Form 4 dorm, and Wesley said he came to help them. Wesley extended his hand and then ran away. According to that child, Wesley was by then in school," she narrated.

According to father Clinox Ayieko, he spoke to his son at 7pm the same night, unaware that at 3am, he would receive a call that would change everything forever.
Ayieko said the deputy principal informed him that his son had been rushed to the hospital after complaining of a headache and that he needed to see him.
