“I live in Lavington, and my landlord disappeared into thin air. He has never come. This is the third year I haven’t paid rent. I wonder whether he has relatives,” said the caller.
The tenant speculated that the landlord might have passed away and his family knew nothing about the property.
“Do you know his family?” asked Maina.
“No. I went house hunting, and he gave me the house. I paid him for like a year. He used to come physically to collect rent but disappeared,” he responded.
The tenant further said he had no way of looking for the landlord but hoped he would return someday.
“I am just here saving his rent. The day he will come, he will come. I hope he comes. I always keep his rent.”
The narration elicited mixed reactions from Kenyans, with some joking that their landlords should follow suit.

Maina Kageni encourages women to propose
In other news, Maina wondered how women stay in a relationship for over a year without being legally married.
The radio host advised women to propose to their men in case they take long.
Maina, who said he wasn't going to marry, also said that having kids with a man who hasn't married you doesn't mean he is yours.
