According to the police report referenced by TUKO.co.ke, Njuguna called Nyambura, who was a long-time friend and asked that they meet at the Khoja Bus Stage to share greetings and at least catch up after not seeing each other for a while.

The report indicated that, on the material day, Nyambura was in the company of her sister, whom she was escorting to go and attend an interview within the Nairobi Central Business District (CBD.)

Just before arriving at Khoja stage, Nyambura said she was called by Njuguna who said he only wanted to say hi to her.

When she arrived at Khoja, Nyambura told Njuguna that she needed to relieve herself in the public toilets first before they could continue with their conversation.

She then left her handbag which contained the Infinix Hot 12 i, a National Identity Card and other personal documents to Njuguna.

"When she returned from the washrooms she found that Njuguna had disappeared. She tried calling him through his number and her phone number but found them switched off," the statement documented.
