Migori- A Migori man working in the Juakali centre has celebrated after building a simple house worth KSh 200,000 in the village for his occasional visits to upcountry.
Twenty-eight-year-old Collince Okeyo could not help but jubilate over the completion of his 'Simba' as it means he finally has a place to lay his head whenever he goes home to check on his family and friends.
Okeyo narrates how he started construction process
In an interview with TUKO.co.ke, Okeyo narrated he decided to build the simple house in 2021, and he began by using KSh 80,000 that he had saved up to start a business to instead construct the house.

He said both of his parents are deceased, so going to the village was a bit troublesome as he had nowhere he could call home whenever he travelled to Awendo, Migori, to greet his people.
"I started the first phase by getting myself some structures to start building. I had to build myself a place as my parents are both deceased, and so I had no place to lay when I visited home. After finishing the entire construction process, I decided to come back to Nairobi to hustle," he told this writer.
Okeyo, who works as a mechanical engineer at Jua Kali in Industrial Area, said though the house has since taken shape, he is still in the final steps of the construction process.
"I am still looking forward to better this little house as I look to later build my own permanent house God willing," he added.
Kisii man builds new house
Elsewhere, a man from Kisii also recently exclusively narrated to TUKO.co.ke how he managed to build his own house after hustling as a broker.
Dominic Ombongi could not contain his joy and pride as he saw his semi-permanent dream home, which he had been building in his hometown, finally come to fruition.
The 26-year-old man said he started laying the foundation of the one-bedroomed house in September 2022, and less than a year later, it is already ready for occupation.
