While addressing the eighth Devolution Conference in Uasin Gishu on Wednesday, August 16, Whitman said the 2022 General Election was a credible and transparent poll and reiterated that President William Ruto had won fair and square.

Her sentiments were not taken lightly by politicians and Kenyans affiliated to the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance Party under the leadership of Raila Odinga who reiterated that the country's electoral system need urgent overhaul.

"The US-Kenya partnership is strong, having been built on years of shared values and interests. Strengthening the US-Kenya trade and investment relationship and further adopting collective steps towards achieving climate positive growth formed part of our deliberations today, with the US Ambassador to Kenya Meg Whitman at my office," Mudavadi shared on his social media pages.

Mudavadi who dumped Raila's faction to work with Ruto's Kenya Kwanza reiterated that the Kenya-US partnership had enhanced security in the country.

This is despite a Wednesday, August 16, incident in Garissa where five students were shot dead in what was described as clan clashes with other quarters pointing fingers to terror activities.

"Our partnership has also enhanced security, increased prosperity, and improved the lives of Kenyans and Americans, becoming a model for benchmarking by other nations," Mudavadi said.

Raila Odinga rubbishes Meg Whitman's sentiments

His sentiments came moments before Raila fiercely responded to Whitman's remarks concerning the fairness of elections and protests that were championed by the Azimio la Umoja faction.

Raila told the envoy to keep Kenya out of her mouth lest he leads a push for her recall as reported by Nation.

"I want to tell the rogue ambassador to leave Kenyans alone. If protests can ensure dialogue between Kalonzo Musyoka and Kimani Ichung'awah then everything is good with maandamano. Someone should tell the rogue ambassador that Kenya is neither the US nor its colony," Raila stated.

He prevailed upon Whitman to shut her mouth or Kenya would call for her recall back to her country.

On Wednesday, Ruto praised Whitman's keynote address at the Devolution Conference and even clarified that it was because she had an excellent presentation rather than her thin-veiled attack against the Opposition.
