Nairobi - A Nairobi man is happy to have intercepted machinations by his wife to sell their infant.
Sadic Wekesa had left his home in Nairobi on Thursday, July 27, for work as usual, but on returning, he learnt that the wife, Phibi Machesa, was missing together with the baby.
She would then contact him on phone to inform him that their young one was sick and admitted to the Pumwani Hospital.

On Friday, his wife informed him that the child in the hospital had died.
He went to the facility to confirm everything, but the child's name and details could not be traced.
On Monday, he returned to the hospital to find out more.
It was a security guard at the hospital that let the cat out of the bag; he said Machesa had given the child to those he had planned to sell.
"The guard told me that my wife was hiding me from all this. She knew where the child was but didn't want to tell me the truth. She even wanted the soldier to steal another child from the hospital," he said.
According to him, his wife was to bag KSh 20,000 out of the deal, with KSh 9,000 being paid before the baby is picked.
They were arraigned at the Thika Law Courts on Thursday, August 3, as the baby got reunited with her father.
Baby for KSh 400,000
Similarly, a Nairobi woman was recently busted trying to sell her five-day-old baby for KSh 400,000.
The mother of the child approached another woman to help her look for a buyer.
Unknown to her, police officers from Kasarani Police Station had posed as potential buyers and laid a trap for the woman.
It also emerged that the grandmother of the kid was concerned about the payment.
"We don't want you to come back after the deal is done,” she said.
The buyer enquired about the whereabouts of the child's mother, as the suspect, identified as Christine Masika, failed to mention her in their conversation.
According to Masika, the mother of the baby was a 13-year-old Form Two student who didn't want to shoulder the responsibilities of taking care of her young baby.
"The young girl was told I'm taking the child to be raised in a children's home, only her mum knows, and when she asks about the child later on, the grandmother will just say the children's home moved," said Masika.
