Mombasa - Good News International Church leader Pastor Paul Mackenzie has denied reviving his ministry in prison.
Mackenzie and his co-accused appeared before the Shanzu Law Courts on Friday, August 4, for the hearing of the prayer by the prosecution to have them detained for 47 more days.
The controversial preacher asked the court to produce footage from CCTV to absolve him of accusations of reviving his outlawed ministry.
He explained that he found a church established in Shimo La Tewa long before he was detained, questioning why the authorities had not stopped it.

"I request the court to bring the CCTV footage from the block where they say I held the church service. Additionally, the footage will show that the church he mentioned is not in prison. Before I reached Shimo La Tewa, there was church service being conducted. Why haven't they stopped it?" he said.
Mackenzie says he's accepted his fate
The preacher accused of convincing his followers to starve to death told the court he had accepted his predicament.
An enraged Mackenzie dared the officials to kill him and throw his remains in River Yala with reference to unclaimed bodies found in the river.
He explained that everyone, including the officials, would eventually die, pleading with the court to come to his aid.
"I have made up my mind. If you see that you are tired of me and my companions, we are ready for you to take us to River Yala. We have no problem with that because I will die, and you will also die someday, and there is nowhere else you will go. So, let this court assist me," he added.
Mackenzie's follower dies in custody
In a separate report, one of the suspected followers of the controversial pastor died due to a hunger strike at Malindi GK prison.

According to Senior Prosecution Counsel Jami Yamina, Buyuka died as a result of a hunger strike.
Buyuka was among the 64 suspected Good News International Church followers who staged a 10-day hunger strike while in custody.
