"I was happy to spend the first day of the retreat- running deep into the night- working with the teachers on the turn-around plan. We have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the teachers that the Alumni will handle the hardware (infrastructural development) while the teachers will take charge of the software (performance)."

He reflected on his days in the institution that he said shaped his destiny to become a thorough-bred government policymaker.
"My journey to national leadership has been long and very challenging. Many people, including, but not limited to my late parents, held my hand. Several institutions were instrumental in defining my destiny. Kianyaga High School, where I spent 6 years is the most important; it was responsible for my schooling, mentorship and character formation," he explained.
Gachagua was optimistic that the school would shine again as they undertook the task of moving it forward.
