"I have done charity for a long time but story ya this boy Brian huwa inaniweza sana. The mother left 16 years ago baada ya kumzaa never to come back," wrote Ondimu.
"He was left with the grandmom ambaye amekuwa mamake for that long..he doesn't know sura ya mamake live ila tu kwa picha anaonyeshwa," he added.

The sudden disappearance of his mother 16 years ago left him under the care of his grandmother, who worked tirelessly to provide for him and ensure his education.

Despite facing financial challenges, Brian scored an impressive B- in his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams, proving his academic prowess.

How did Ondimu learn about Areri?

Ondimu learned about Areri's story on December 8, 2022, when he took to Facebook to highlight the young boy's plight.

At the time, Brian had been admitted to Meru University, but his family's financial constraints threatened to dash his dreams of higher education.

Ondimu initiated a fundraising campaign, initially aiming to collect KSh 30,000 to cover Brian's university expenses.

The response from wellwishers was nothing short of astonishing. His call for support struck a chord with hundreds of individuals who had a shared desire to uplift Areri's aspirations.

Donations poured in rapidly, surpassing the intended target in a matter of hours, Ondimu told TUKO.co.ke

On Saturday, August 19, Ondimu visited Areri and his grandmother at their home in Kisii. His excitement and gratitude were palpable as he prepared to commence his studies.

Areri receives overwhelming support

Areri, who had saved a portion of his earnings from odd jobs, demonstrated his commitment to his education. Additionally, he expressed his need for a smartphone.

Ondimu, fueled by the desire to see Brian succeed, organised a live session to raise funds for the smartphone.

The result was a remarkable collection of KSh 12,000, showcasing the community's unwavering support.

"One thing about this boy napenda, ni respect yenye ako nayo. He told me amekuwa akifanya vibarua and he has saved KSh 5,000. He requested me through friends tumnunulie simu juu anatumia kabambe," wrote Ondimu

Nyabate Abere, a close associate of Ondimu, pledged to provide Brian with clothing and other necessities as he embarks on his university journey.

Ondimu fundraises to build house for blind man

Earlier, Ngare embarked on a charity mission to uplift the life of a 60-year-old blind man from Aunga village, Sengera ward in Kisii county.

This is after he got wind of the heartbreaking fact that the old man named Kefa Manyoni Moembu has been living in a dilapidated house.

Photos on his page show that Mzee Kefa had been forced to sink a small hole in the middle of the house where he slept in place of a bed.

Ondimu disclosed that the old man's wife and kids deserted him, leaving him to wallow in loneliness and hopelessness.
