Love has a remarkable way to transcend barriers, and the story of Peter Eretu and Bridget Ainebyoona is a perfect testament to that.
How did Peter and Bridget meet?
Peter and Bridget's love story began in Mbale District in Uganda on January 16, 2020, and has since overcome challenges of distance, tribal differences, and the COVID-19 pandemic.
A report by Uganda's Monitor indicated Peter was employed at Itel Mobile Limited, a company that dealt with the marketing and pricing of Itel products and services.

Bridget, on the other hand, worked at an Itel dealership. What started as a professional relationship gradually blossomed into a romantic one, ultimately leading to their marriage.
Before the lockdown, Peter often visited Bridget's workplace as part of his responsibility of evaluating the company's sales representatives.
During these visits, he was captivated by her beauty and personality. Bridget, in turn, was impressed by his friendly demeanour, kindness, and respect for those he interacted with.
Admiration was mutual
As their conversations deepened, Peter was drawn to Bridget's composed nature and gentle voice.
The admiration was mutual, and Bridget recognised in Peter the qualities she had always desired in a partner – understanding, hardworking, and gentle.
“He was friendly, calm and very kind. He was also always decently dressed and talked to everyone with so much respect,” Bridget recallsed.
Their journey was not without its challenges, though. Bridget hails from the Munyankore tribe in Sheema District, while Peter is from the Itesot tribe in Serere District.
Tribal differences initially posed a hurdle, as Bridget's parents had reservations about her marrying someone from the eastern region.
Parents finally allow them to marry
However, the couple's commitment, patience, and prayers eventually led to a change of heart, as they demonstrated that love knows no tribal boundaries.
After four months of dating, Peter decided to make Bridget his wife.
Their love story culminated in a beautiful ceremony on July 2, 2022, at St Andrew’s Cathedral in Mbale, surrounded by family and friends.
The couple's reception at Marpple Cottages in Mbale was a memorable affair, with heartfelt music, tasty food and drinks, and the presence of their loved ones.
Their journey into marriage has been marked by joint planning, open communication, mutual respect, and spending quality time together.
Their love has been further enriched by the arrival of their first child, reinforcing their bond and purpose in each other's lives.
