Uasin Gishu - President William Ruto's close aide Farouk Kibet has donated two school buses and, at the same time, urged young school girls to avoid early marriages.
Farouk, described as a dreaded character controlling who gets Ruto's ear in the messy world of politics, donated the buses to enhance the mobility of learners in Uasin Gishu and Nandi counties.
Speaking during the event in which Majority Leader Kimani Ichung'wah and other leaders were present, the no-nonsense Ruto's insider encouraged girls to focus on their studies and shun early marriages.
"Don't accept to get married before the right age comes, do you hear me, young girls? Even for you boys, I hear you also marry older women. That nonsense must stop, and you focus on your education," he said.

Farouk's promise to Uasin Gishu learners
In his tough speech, Farouk warned teachers against going to work while intoxicated, saying it was a bad example to the children.
He told the school to pick several learners for a Mombasa trip, promising to pay for their expenses in a posh hotel where they will stay.
"Don't look down on yourselves and study," he urged the students.
How powerful is Farouk Kibet?
A few months ago, Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro hilariously admitted Farouk wields immense power and also further claimed that Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua seeks the aide's permission to see his boss.
While comparing his power to that of the president, Ndindi said no one could see the head of state without Farouk's approval owing to his close relationship with the head of state.
"Farouk's position is like that of the president of Kenya. You cannot reach the president if Farouk says no! Even for this friend of mine, the DP, Farouk, has to say yes before he meets the president," Ndindi said to the amusement of the congregation.
