Celebrated broadcaster Alex Chamwada is excited as his former security guard, Isaya Bwabi, graduated from the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (KIMC).

How did Chamwada help ex-guard?

In July 2023, Chamwada revealed that Bwabi had worked as a security guard at Chams Media for years until one day, he opened up to him and said he admired what the seasoned journalist did and wanted to follow in his footsteps.

Touched by his zeal and positive attitude, Chamwada paid his college fees at KIMC.

Chamwada revealed that Bwabi graduated with a certificate in Film and Video Production.

On Thursday, December 14, Chamwada shared images of the graduation the chief guest was the Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communication, and Digital Economy, Eliud Owalo.

“He used to shake my hands as he opened the gate as a security guard at the Kilimani Court, where our offices are located. Today, he shook not only my hands but also that of CS Eliud Owalo as he graduated with a certificate in Film Making and Videography from the KIMC, Eldoret Campus,” Chamwada wrote.

The veteran scribe called on Kenyans to join him in celebrating Bwabi, who was also crowned the best student during industrial attachment.

“Well done. Chams Media, where you already have a job, is proud of you. What a transformation,” he wrote.

Kenyans reacted by saying:

Aaron Greene:

“Making other people's candles light brighter makes yours brighter.”

Violah Wek:

“From zero to hero.”

Rufas Mwenda:

“Congratulations to him, and God bless you for holding him up the ladder.”

Wycliffe Nyafuanga:

“This is the kind of news we need as a country.”

Why did man get emotional on first flight?

In another story, Bwabi experienced his first plane ride, and the emotional moment caused him to shed tears of joy.

"This is a miracle; it's my first time in an aeroplane and on the coast, I hope I will enjoy it," said Bwabi after disembarking from the plane at Malindi Airport.

Bwabi said he was the first member of his family to board a plane.
