This far surpassed their Nigerian counterparts, who tipped only KSh 24,863—a whopping 244% more in orders tipped by Kenyans than Nigerians, according to Glovo's comprehensive analysis.
Most generous cities
Among the most generous cities in terms of tipped orders were Diani, Ngong-Rongai-Karen, and notably, Kisumu. These regions stood out for their generosity towards delivery riders, reflecting a culture of appreciation for service.
Ivy Maingi, the interim general manager for Glovo Kenya, expressed pride in the firm's ability to adapt and cater to the diverse needs of consumers.
"At Glovo, our commitment to the industry is unwavering. The substantial growth in total orders and our expanding partner ecosystem reflect not only the success of our platform but also our dedication to meeting the diverse needs of our users," she stated as reported on Business Daily.
Increase in Glovo orders
The report also highlighted a substantial 24% increase in the number of orders fulfilled by Glovo compared to the previous year. Moreover, the app experienced a remarkable 52% surge in available partners, signifying an expanding network to meet the growing demands of consumers.
Bolt fires over 5000 drivers
In other related news, TUKO.co.ke reported that over 5000 Bolt drivers were dismissed for non-compliance as Bolt reinforced safety standards within the digital taxi platform.
In a bold move to prioritise safety within the mobility industry, Bolt announced stringent measures aimed at bolstering safety on its platform and also allocated over KSh 20 million to fortify its safety features and measures.
"At Bolt, the safety of all users on our platform is our top priority. We understand the trust our users place in us, and we are taking proactive steps to ensure their well-being during every ride," said Linda Ndungu, Bolt country manager in Kenya.
