Meru - It seems Governor Kawira Mwangaza is no longer taking any chances after surviving two impeachments within a year.
Her husband Murega Baichu's active involvement in the administrative affairs of the county partly constituted the grounds for her impeachment in both instances.
Why Murega Baichu skipped Jamhuri Stadium
Perhaps choosing not to bar the county assembly members from finding fault in her style of leadership, Mwangaza revealed her new resolve not to tag her husband in public functions.

This was evident during the Jamhuri Day fete on Tuesday, December 12, when he presided over it at the Kinoru Stadium.
Baichu was conspicuously missing, the governor taking an indirect jibe at the MCAs whom she implied devised her impeachment on flimsy grounds.
She said she had made the deliberate decision to leave him behind in order to escape imminent impeachment.
"If he is seen around, it pacifies the rate of impeachments. He would;d have liked to be here but he said not to come to prevent more impeachments," said Mwangaza.
She, during the fete, paused her speech to introduce her son, Victor Mwangaza.
The county boss disclosed that Victor was waiting to sit for his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations at Kagumo High School and hopefully become a lawyer.
"How are you people of Meru? Praise God. I am Victor Mwangaza and am the second and last born to the governor. Thank you," Victor said before handing the microphone back to his mum.
Mwangaza survives impeachment
Kawira was facing seven counts, including misappropriation of public resources, in her impeachment this year.
She was tried in the Senate plenary after 59 out of 69 Meru Members of County Assembly voted for her ouster.
Most senators voted against her impeachment on all counts, including the illegal naming of a public road after her guitar-loving husband, Baichu.
After a trial that took two days and forced the senators to stay past midnight on the second day of the hearing, most legislators voted against the accusations raised by the MCAs, who have been at loggerheads with Mwangaza.
