The government has announced job opportunities in Saudi Arabia for Kenyans.
This followed President William Ruto's visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) in November 2023.

The head of state revealed that he had secured an agreement with the Saudi Arabian government to export 2,500 skilled labourers.

In a public notice released on Tuesday, January 2, the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection called for applications for Kenyans to work in KSA nursing and personal healthcare sectors.
"...we request for applications from qualified Kenyans for employment in the KSA as General Nurses and Personal Assistant/Healthcare Assistant professionals," read the notice signed by Labour PS Shadrack Mwadime in part.
What are the nursing job requirements?
Mwadime specified that applicants should be Kenyan citizens, female, and aged between 22 and 35 years.
They should be registered and licensed members of the Nursing Council of Kenya with good standing.
Those with a degree should have a minimum of two years of continuous experience, while diploma holders should have zero experience (graduate entry is accepted).
Certificate in nursing graduates should have a minimum of one year of continuous work experience.
Qualified candidates must be proficient in English, both writing and speaking, physically fit and hold a valid Kenyan passport.
They must have a valid and latest licence or employment certificate.
What is the monthly salary for a nurse in Saudi?
Once selected, the applicants must have valid prometric test results, which can be taken in Kenya of KSA with a fee deducted from the salary in three instalments.
The job terms are pegged on a contract of two years, renewable.
Workers have eight hours on duty with a monthly pay of 2,200 riyals (KSh 92,000) for certificate holders.
Diploma holders earn a monthly salary of 3,000 riyals (KSh 125,000) while degree holders earn 3,500 riyals (KSh 146,000).
