Rigathi Gachagua's promise to Kenyan nurses
Earlier, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua had called on the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) graduates to ready themselves for opportunities abroad.
Over 22,600 finalists from the state medical college were conferred with their respective credentials on Thursday, December 7.
Addressing them at the Moi Kasarani Sports Centre in Nairobi, the deputy president appreciated that Kenyan health professionals were highly demanded outside the country owing to their work ethic and standards.
"One of the most sought areas of professionalism out there is the medical profession. Our health providers are desired in large numbers across the world. I am sure soon most of you will find your way to other countries to go work there," said Gachagua.
Gachagua assured the medics that President William Ruto was striving to secure opportunities for them in his bilateral engagements with Kenya's overseas partners.
"The president has embarked on a very rigorous exercise to look for employment outside our borders," he said.
