In her words:
"So I make my hair and nails and buy new clothes for Christmas and then get to the booking section and find there are no buses? And nobody should tell me that I should have started early, I did not have money that early. It is now that I have found money. But I must also go to the village. My grandmother is waiting for the things that I am leaving Nairobi with to eat during Christmas," she said.
She appealed to the bus companies that ply her route to ensure that her grandmother gets to see her during Christmas.
"Please, you need to get me to Ugenya; how I will get there, I do not know, but last-minute people must also be given chances," she added.

Her plea left many with mixed reactions, with some complaining about not having money to travel while others shared similar struggles of attempting to go home.
