The police nabbed Kenneth Mutua Gatiri alias Gasigi, Fredrick Muruiki Kiugi alias Pope, Frankline Kimathi alias Dudu Ras, Timothy Kinoti alias Timo and Murangiri Kenneth Guantai alias Tali. Kinoti is Governor Kawira Mwangaza's son, while Murangiri is her brother.
The situation continues to unfold as authorities delve into the circumstances surrounding these events.
Breaking the silence on the murder of the blogger for the first time, Kawira okayed investigations by urging the detectives to probe the case to the core.
"I do not want to comment much on the murder of Sniper, and we all want to know what happened. The matter is being investigated," she said.
What happened to Sniper?
A postmortem examination conducted on the slain Sniper at Marimanti Level 4 Hospital Mortuary revealed that the vocal political activist was strangled, according to the government's pathologist, Johansen Oduor.
Oduor said that Sniper had marks on the neck, fractured ribs, and injuries on the head, suggesting that he was strangled before being thrown into a river.
"He was actually strangled; there was some mark on the neck that was caused by a rope. He had. He had evidence of someone who lacked air which led to his death. We also saw some injuries on the chest; there were rib fractures on the right side from the seventh, eighth, and ninth rib," Oduor said.
The blogger went missing on December 2 after receiving a call from an acquaintance who requested a meetup so they could address certain issues.
