- Omanga blamed Uhuru Kenyatta's administration for allegedly putting the country into a cesspit, claiming that Ruto has made efforts to revive the once-sunken economy

Former nominated senator Millicent Omanga has claimed that Kenyans will soon praise President William Ruto for the several initiatives he's put in place in a bid to rejuvenate the economy.
Omanga claimed that Ruto had delivered the country from a deteriorating economy, which the Kenya Kwanza administration inherited from Uhuru Kenyatta.
"One day (and that day is very soon), the people of Kenya will thank H.E. President William Ruto for pulling Kenya out of the economic cesspit that his predecessor left her in. You can take this to the bank," she wrote on x.

The ex-MP believes the head of state saved the nation from being auctioned by countries and investors Kenya owes a lot of money.
"Had it not been for William Ruto, Kenya would've been auctioned by now. Trust me!" she stated.
In a different post, Omanga argued that Ruto had addressed national issues with a lot of discernment, likening him to late Nelson Mandela of South Africa.
"President William Ruto is directing the issues of national importance with a sagacity never seen before. The Mandela of Africa!" she posted.
Kenyans unimpressed
However, a section of Kenyans claimed that the country was headed to a more worrying state than it was during the reign of Uhuru Kenyatta.
@mundeshe said:
"That economic cesspit was dug when your beloved president was the Deputy President then. Remember the first Eurobond and how Ruto defended it? We can't take this tweet seriously because the statehouse is using KSh 24 million per day."
@DenishJohnny1 observed:
"William Ruto has sunk this country to a depth that will be very difficult to salvage."
@Omuliuli1 wrote:
"This is an ideological religion created by the Kenya Kwanza regime. This government is chasing too many rabbits at the same time. Let's eradicate corruption and fight tribalism and nepotism in government appointments; the rest shall fall into place."
@mmagiri commented:
"That's like saying when a married couple part ways, the leaking roof of a house they had built is the responsibility of the man only. Even if deceit is part of a Kenyan politician's crust, let's have some sense not to debase the intelligence of wananchi. All of us are not demented."
Ruto is behind my success, says Omanga
Earlier, Omanga disclosed that her appointment to join KenGen, courtesy of the president, transformed her life for the better.
According to her, she received a call from the now Energy Cabinet Secretary, Davis Chirchir, informing her to attend the company's annual general meeting following her appointment as one of the directors.
At that time, Omanga was at a shop bargaining for 30 bedsheets she wanted to go and sell.
"I was at the Kings Collections shop trying to bargain with the Indian dealer so that I could make some profit. To my surprise, I received a call from Davis Chirchir saying, 'We have an AGM tomorrow for KenGen, and you have been appointed to be one of the directors'. I dare say the person who is behind my triumph today is none other than William Samoei Ruto," Omanga declared.
