The father of two expressed his joy at the newfound wealth, adding that he would take time to plan and ensure the money helps and improves his family.
"Jameni, moja tu ilimtoa 339 milli! Matata wa Ugwaro, kidogo atatue the Mega Jackpot question last weekend (One mistake cost him KSh 339 million! Matata from Kawangware nearly answered the Mega Jackpot question last weekend), read the caption.
Matata told TUKO.co.ke that he has been betting since 2017 and the highest amount he took home before the current win was KSh 15,000.
The other times, the Gor Mahia fan would win small monies, like KSh 5,000, and KSh 2,000, until he received the call that he had hit it big.
"It has come at the perfect time, so you can be sure my family will have the best Christmas ever," he said.
Jishikie Kienyeji campaign
Matata's victory adds to a fortunate trend that has seen 10 lucky individuals pocket more than KSh 10 million each in 2023 through the Mid-week and Mega Jackpot Bonuses.
This triumph follows closely on the heels of Solomon Mnang’at, a businessman from Kapenguria in West Pokot County, who won KSh 4.7 million last week for predicting 15 out of 17 outcomes.
Having been a SportPesa bettor since 2016, Matata took the opportunity to caution fellow punters to bet responsibly during the holiday season.
With many young people expected to be at home, he urged restraint, noting the allure of striking it rich in the Mega Jackpot, which currently stands at an impressive 340 million shillings.
Besides the Mega Jackpot Bonuses, SportPesa has actively rewarded participants in the 'Jishikie Kienyeji Hii Krisi' Christmas campaign.
So far, 60 players have been acknowledged, with 42 weekly winners receiving KSh 5,000 each.
