Speaking to TUKO.co.Khamadi said Sharon travelled to Saudi Arabia for greener pastures to help her mum and son.

"I had warned her and asked her to let me be the one to work hard to care for them. She said I had been good to them, and she had seen my suffering and would rather be the one to leave home and not her," she tearfully narrated.

Mistreatment by Saudi boss

Sharon packed her bags and travelled to Saudi, leaving behind her family, hoping things would be different when she returned after her contract ended in two years.

The expectations of the Nairobi family were cut short as things were tough in Saudi Arabia for Sharon, and she ran away after a few months.

"She told her sister her boss was mistreating her and was running away because she was tired. She had sent a picture of her sister showing she was unwell," Khamadi painfully recalled.

Living in Kibera slums

The disheartened mother who lives in Kibera slums said her daughter had aspirations but never lived to fulfil them.

She died of an illness the family did not find out about but was left in agony after their kin, who went alive and healthy, returned in a coffin.

Escaping death is Saudi

In other news, a Kenyan woman recounted escaping death in Saudi and used the experience to educate others.

Susan Macharia, a single mother facing economic challenges, embarked on a journey to Saudi Arabia in search of better opportunities.

Upon landing in Saudi Arabia, Macharia faced challenges, such as a language barrier with her first employer, prompting her to request a transfer.

Her breaking point came when she found herself in a physical altercation with her supervisor, defending herself against a potentially life-threatening situation.
