A young woman has stirred the online streets by insisting that Kenyans should care for orphans and widows instead of giving their hard-earned money to pastors in tithes and offerings.

Pastors sell anointing oil and water

According to Yvonne, the key to receiving blessings from God was taking care of the less fortunate in society, such as the poor, widows and orphans.

"These pastors know the truth, but they can't tell you; they know our blessings are in helping the poor, but they can't tell us because they will miss their chance to eat," said the irked woman.

"These days, they even have a specific amount one can give in church. They tell you to buy anointing oil, handkerchiefs, water, and brooms, then use your money go bless the widows and orphans," she added.

Does God bless sinners?

The woman hinged her argument on the teachings of Jesus that implored people to visit people in hospitals, feed the hungry, and check on visitors.

Yvonne also called out people who are always chasing miracles but can't be bothered to care for their suffering neighbours.

"God blesses everyone; thieves, robbers and killers," she said.
