Machakos- A 23-year-old man who stabbed his ex-lover in a supermarket has been arraigned a little over a week after he allegedly committed the heinous crime.
On Monday, July 31, Patrick Mwangi was arraigned before Machakos Principal Magistrate Charles Ondieki for the death of the woman he was captured on Closed Circuit Cameras stabbing.
During the arraignment, the court ordered that the suspect undergoes a mental assessment as he tried to harm himself after killing Eunice Syokau in a supermarket, Citizen TV reported.
The case will be mentioned on September 4, 2023.

Eunice Syokau's family demands justice
This came just days after the family of the lady demanded justice after confirming her death in the incident.
A viral Closed Circuit Television footage showed how Syokau was violently attacked by her the man who has since been identified as her ex-boyfriend.
TUKO.co.ke had reached out to a close friend of the deceased, who disclosed that the couple were blessed with a child together in 2020.
According to her, the couple separated around a year later, and Eunice had to relocate to avoid Mwangi due to his violent patterns.
The chilling Closed Circuit Television footage emerged on social media and showed the harrowing moment when the man stabbed Syokau after an argument in the supermarket.
Viral CCTV footage
The CCTV footage showed the man dressed in an orange hoodie seemingly having an altercation with the woman, and when she tried to leave his presence, he pulled her behind.
The pair's argument went on for a few seconds as the woman could not leave the man's presence, and though she tried to pick a few items from the shelf, their argument persisted.
After quickly looking around to see if anyone was checking him out, he stabbed the lady with an object that seemed like a sharp knife.
