Mammito, known for her sharp wit and relatable humor, expressed her excitement about being selected to be part of the event.
The entertainer added that she has enjoyed moving around Doha and getting a taste of the local hospitality.
“I’m excited to be here in Qatar; it’s such a beautiful country. Nice lighting everywhere, and I have tried some food, and the people have been so nice,” the comic said.
Mammito represents youth life
Oryx Group Entertainment General Manager Famous Aluya revealed that he looks forward to an entertaining show where African stories will be told by Africans while portraying Qatar’s hospitality.
Speaking during the press conference, Aluya reiterated that he believes Africans should tell their own stories through entertainment and culture.
He praised Mammito and Mr Funny, adding that the two comics represent the African youth, and their popularity across social media made them the perfect fit to tell the continent’s story.
According to him, the two represent what the youth life is about, the struggle — starting from nowhere and becoming who they are despite the challenges.
"This is why we are focused on projecting African entertainment as much as possible by bringing in the best African artists,” he said.
Nyandarua man loves Mammito
Mammito's rise to stardom has been exponential in the last five years, turning her into a reputable and sought-after comedy powerhouse.
That potentially explains why a man from Nyandarua county recently disclosed that he has been pursuing the comic for the past two years.
The 32-year-old revealed he initially wanted to be a priest when Mammito was dating fellow comedian Eddie Butita but dropped his ambition when they broke up.
He added that he's willing to offer 200 cows in exchange for her hand in marriage and give her a good life as his heart is after her.
