In a heart-stopping turn of events, a brave tenant in a Dallas apartment thwarted a potential burglary by shooting through his door at two individuals impersonating maintenance workers.
How did the incident happen?
The incident, captured on video, unfolded in a matter of minutes and has left the local community both shocked and relieved.
According to a report by ABC 7 News, two men posing as maintenance workers attempted to break into a tenant's home.

The tenant, whose identity remains undisclosed, demonstrated incredible presence of mind and quick thinking in the face of danger.
Security footage from the scene revealed the sequence of events. Initially, only one of the men approached the tenant's door, claiming to be there to check the air conditioning unit.
Sensing something was amiss, the tenant engaged with the impersonator through the doorbell camera.
After assessing the situation, the tenant informed the individual that no one was home, and the suspect left briefly.

He then returned accompanied by another man who brandished a gun. Together, they launched a forceful assault on the tenant's door in an attempt to gain entry.
Fearing for his safety and the security of his home, the tenant made the courageous decision to defend himself and his property.
With sheer bravery, he opened fire through the door, forcing the two assailants to flee the scene.
Law enforcement responded swiftly to the incident, apprehending one of the suspects shortly afterwards. The investigation into the identity and whereabouts of the second suspect is ongoing.
Reflecting on the incident, the tenant expressed gratitude that his wife and 7-month-old baby were not present during the confrontation.
However, he revealed his intentions to break his lease in light of the unsettling event. The apartment complex management has not released an official statement regarding the incident.

Back at home, a suspected thief in Kalili village, Makueni county, was left nursing injuries after his father shot him with an arrow thinking he was a thief.
Musyoka Kavoo, 40, was shot on his right hand by his father Kavoo Ngeta Musoli.
Kavoo told TUKO.co.ke he heard someone break into his house, something that prompted him to get out and check while fully armed with a bow and an arrow.
He said he watched as the man was stealing windows that were stored in his house before he decided to shoot at him.
