New Delhi - A desperate man has opened up about his heartbreaking challenges while living in a foreign country.

Walter Kabitta Njoroge recalled a tough life living in New Delhi, India, where he had gone to seek medical help for his daughter.

Kidney conditions since being child

Fyona Wanjiku Njoroge has suffered kidney conditions since she was a small child, and her complications have compelled her father to cross borders in search of help.

Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Njoroge said he and his daughter travelled to India in 2022 as his daughter needed a kidney transplant.

"During our stay there, life was difficult. We faced a lot of financial challenges as we did not have enough to cater for the piling bills, both medical and personal. We have struggled here, including unfortunately being ruthlessly thrown out of our apartment during a bone-chilling cold winter night," the agonising father said.

Sending money to India

While still in India, the father from Mombasa continues to appeal to well-wishers to stand with him financially.

His daughter is yet to receive full treatment, but lack of funds stands between them and the medical treatment.

They continue to be strong and keep pushing on, hoping for a breakthrough as they hope to find solutions.

Grade 1 pupil in ICU in India

Earlier, the depressed father said his ailing daughter survived without a kidney after the second operation failed.

"When she was in Grade 1, I was her first donor in December 2011. She had a second transplant in February 2020. Sadly, her mum was overwhelmed by our daughter's suffering and died from a heart attack in February 2019.
Wanjiku is currently in a rare situation, delicately surviving without any kidney after severe complications in June 2022 here in India that culminated in double ICU emergencies and the removal of her hard-fought second kidney given in February 2020. Sadly, her last short call was more than a year ago, in early June 2022, just before the emergency removal of the second kidney," the father shared.
