Nairobi - Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi has sworn to continue recognising President William Ruto after ditching Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party leader Raila Odinga.

On the evening of Monday, August 7, Ngunyi admitted on his official Twitter account that he was a gun for hire after paying allegiance to the head of state.

"For the record: I am a gun for hire. And then? What will you do about it? I am a dog of war. A dog for hire. A mercenary for the public good. I do not care about credibility. It never fed my children. What I know to be true is this: class war is loading. And Ruto is the driver," Ngunyi posted.

Why Mutahi Ngunyi had a change of heart

Earlier, TUKO.co.ke reported that Ngunyi officially crossed over to Ruto's Kenya Kwanza Alliance.

For quite some time, Ngunyi has been an ardent supporter of Raila.

Taking to his official Twitter handle on the evening of Monday, August 7, Ngunyi disclosed that his defection to Ruto's camp resulted from a change of mind.

"Public notice: I have defected to William Ruto. I misjudged him using the dynasty lens. But if the facts change, you must change your mind. And only a fool does not change his mind. I started project #HustlerNation. Now I must complete it. Iko swali?" Ngunyi tweeted.

What Mutahi Ngunyi told William Ruto about his CSs, PSs

In a related story, TUKO.co.ke reported that on Tuesday, August 1, Ruto locked out of State House Nairobi some Cabinet Secretaries who also failed to sign their performance contracts.

State House Press Secretary Emmanuel Talam had earlier released an official programme indicating that the event was to begin at exactly 8am.

This meant that all the CSs and their Principal Secretaries were to be seated early enough before the official time when the event would kick off.

Why William Ruto should crack the whip on his Cabinet

Kithure Kindiki (Interior) and Moses Kuria (Trade and Industry) were barred over lateness and did not sign their contracts.

Also barred from the event were a few PSs and heads of parastatals who also arrived late for the event.

Reacting to Ruto's move, Ngunyi advised the head of state to start terrorising his Cabinet Secretaries.

Ngunyi told the president to consider firing a CS or even a PS for no reason.
