In an emotional turn of events, a netizen, who chose to remain anonymous, sought help online to locate their long-lost father, Richard Kyalo Muthike.
Netizen seek help online
The netizen shared that their mother had passed away when they were twelve, leaving them with numerous unanswered questions about their father's whereabouts.
The plea for assistance was made in a travel community forum on Facebook, Wanderlust, with the netizen providing scanty details about their father.

"I have little information about him. All I know is that his name was Richard Kyalo Muthike and his home was in Machakos, Kalama," said the Netizen.
"I have an old photo of him taken in the 80s written Afya House Ministry of Health at the back (I went here once but did not get help) saw him last when I was around the age of five."
These included an old photo of their dad, who had left them when they were just five years old, taken in the 80s with the inscription Afya house Ministry of Health at the bac.k
Despite a previous attempt to seek help at Afya House, no progress was made in finding their father.
Following the heartwarming appeal, a comment from a user named Dida Richie caught the netizen's attention.
Netizen's step-sister reaches out
Dida Richie claimed to be the half-sibling of the person searching for their father.
"Why give my dad's information and hide yourself, come inbox I'll be happy to meet my sibling from another mother," wrote Dida,
Richie urged the netizen to message them privately, expressing their eagerness to meet their sibling from another mother.
In a later update, the netizen joyfully shared that they had finally found their father with the help of Dida Richie.
After exchanging messages, Dida Richie sent photos confirming their father's identity, and the netizen was convinced it was indeed their long-lost parent.
The reunion was made all the more significant as the father remembered the middle names of both the netizen and their late mother.
The newfound half-sister, Dida Richie, welcomed the netizen into her life with open arms.
Netizen expresses gratitude for help
She generously shared details of their family history and provided contact information.
"This lady by the name Didah Richie reached out, I inboxed her and she sent me his photos and he is the one for real, the fact that he remembers my middle name and that of my Mum's," she wrote.
'This, my half-sister has welcomed me well, she has shared with me part of her family history and has even shared contacts," added the netizen.
The netizen expressed immense gratitude to the community for their support and encouragement throughout the search, despite facing some negativity from a few members.
Overwhelmed with emotions, the netizen revealed they needed time to process everything before making further arrangements.
