"The present case is purely to punish me and depict me as a violent man who should not be trusted with my children, especially when I was dissatisfied with the ruling in the children's court on supervised access.
"I thus pray that this case be dismissed and I be set free to take care of my children. I am not a violent man. It is just a second face of fighting over custody of the children, which I have since abandoned in the intended appeal," he testified.
It wasn't me in CCTV footage, PS Julius Korir
On whether or not he had assaulted his estranged wife, Korir added that she had already moved out of the house in 2019 just before she filed a divorce case thus it was impossible to assault here at a time they were not in the same house.
Koech had testified in the court stating that Korir assaulted him in their house when she had taken her child to bed after demanding food after arriving home.
" I got married to the complainant in June 2014 and our marriage ran into difficulties. We separated but lived under the same roof. The complainant moved out of the house around 2019," he explained.
The PS further denied being the person captured in the CCTV footage presented in court by the prosecution.
He maintained his innocence, adding that his house has no CCTV cameras, so any footage played in court as evidence did not come from his residence.

"I am a law abiding citizen with paramount respect to the laws of the land. I am a responsible and a concerned parent. I pay school fees for our children and maintenance of an even amount," he told the court.
On the prosecution witness called Milka Chepchirchir, who claimed she was a former employee of the PS and witnessed the assault incident, Korir denied ever having her as her servant.
"She produced no document showing she was ever employed by me in any capacity. What's more is that she knew no names of the other employees who could have worked in the house at the time she claims to have worked for me," explained Korir.
He added that a P3 form produced in court was not authentic.
"It was not known, who had certified it and when . It was not even known where the original document went to and which document was relied on to create it," argued.
Korir is accused that on September 17, 2020, at Ndalat Road in Karen within Nairobi, he unlawfully assaulted Everlyn Chepkorir Koech, thereby occasioning her actual bodily harm
During the November 29, 2022 proceedings, Koech claimed that her husband had formed a habit of assaulting her and immediately calling in pastors to mediate and convince her not to sue him.
