Mwashi visits herbalist for treatment
Apparently, Mwashi Rutema died in April 2018, and her family performed all the necessary rituals to mourn and bury her as per their customs.
"Our sister started complaining of a serious flu, then it escalated to pain throughout her body; in her chest and her legs. In the end, we thought she was possessed by evil spirits," said Jonah Mutema, a family member.

According to Mutema, they never took her to conventional hospitals because they were convinced she had evil spirits.
"We took her to a herbalist and despite his efforts, she died and we buried her. Recently, her sibling was at the stream getting water and saw her, she was taken to the office and we were called to go get her," said Mutema on Ayo TV.
Mwashi goes to Tabora
Mutema explained that Mwashi revealed that a motorbike had taken her to Tabora, Banda then Ugara but her condition overwhelmed the herbalists. Shortly afterwards, the houses in the area were burnt, which is how she escaped.
She walked from Ugara and kept asking people for directions. The family is now performing rituals to cleanse and make her become one of them again.
"She appeared in the same clothes we buried her in. She looks healthy, but it seems like she is mentally challenged," he said.
"When we saw her we were lost for words, some of us even found it hard to stand on our feet," Mutema narrated.
Since their sister came back, it has been a challenge living with her since she keeps carrying her bag, insisting that she wants to go. The family guards her round the clock because she is mentally challenged.
She always carries her bag around, insisting that the clothes inside are a bribe. Mwashi was married and stayed for two years without a child, and her husband is called Idebe Maduhu.
