National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah has been among Kenya Kwanza Alliance leaders who have vehemently defended police action during recent anti-government protests.
During the recent demonstrations, the police were accused of using excessive force while dealing with Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party protesters.
The opposition coalition accused the police of killing innocent demonstrators under the pretext of protecting people's properties.
However, Ichung’wah defended the police, arguing that they were being “vilified” for doing their jobs in ensuring peace during the demonstrations.

What Ichung'wah said about police brutality?
Now a video has emerged on social media of the Kikuyu MP blasting the police for allegedly killing innocent Kenyans.
In the undated clip shared by Azimio TV, the visibly angry lawmaker threatened to lead demonstrations over increased police killings in his Kikuyu Constituency.
In the viral clip, Ichung'wah threatened to stage major demonstrations saying he would not allow his people to be killed like 'chickens'.
"If the OCPD wants me to lead a demonstration, I will show you what it means to lead a demonstration. I will mobilise not this town but the entire constituency because I will not allow my people to be killed like chickens," Ichung'wah angrily said.
Ichung'wah, who was addressing a senior police officer, wondered how many people the police were willing to kill.
"No other person will die in this town. How many people are going to die? How many people are you going to kill?" he posed.
Why Azimio leaders are angry with IG Koome
In a related story, Azimio la Umoja leaders said the issue of police brutality will not be conversed at the dialogue table but will instead be escalated.
During the interdenominational requiem mass on Friday, August 11, for 12 victims of alleged police brutality, Azimio leaders vowed to take action against Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome.
"I don't believe that this matter of police brutality is even for our dialogue team. This is a bigger issue," said Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka.
Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga's running mate in the 2022 presidential polls Martha Karua, said:
"These killings will be avenged. The blood of these innocent Kenyans will be avenged. You can sign as many treaties as you like but they are all null and void under the laws of Kenya and you and your officers will pay for this."
