During the fourth week of August, there was a mixture of inspiring and heartbreaking stories that left internet users irked, among them that of a woman who poured cold water on her househelp.

The story of a family from Mariakani who was unable to transport the body of their daughter, who died at KNH back home for burial, also captured readers this week.

TUKO.co.ke looks at these stories that made headlines during the week, including that of a woman who broke into tears after DNA proved her husband was not the father of her child

The woman had hoped that the man was, indeed, the biological father, only for everything to come crashing down on her.

1. Woman faints after DNA confirms hubby isn't father of her child

A mother was left in distress after results from a DNA test confirmed that her husband was not the biological father of her child.

Reeling from the revelation, the heartbroken woman collapsed in an emotional video shared by The Closure DNA Show.

While reading out the results loudly, the presenter informed the man that the probability of him being the father was 0%.

"In simple terms, we are saying, sir, you are not the biological father of the child without any doubt," he reiterated.

After the results were read, the woman removed the lapel microphone from her dress before walking away from the set and collapsing on the floor.

Another woman was pictured trying to calm down the woman who was weeping uncontrollably.

Seemingly, the woman clung to the hope that the man was her biological father, only for everything to come crashing down on her.

2. Employer pours cold water on househelp

A lady named Christabel Egbenya sparked outrage on social media after she poured water on her sleeping house help.

In a video shared on TikTok and which has since been deleted, the angry boss entered the bedroom to find the house help named Ifeoma, still asleep by 9 am.

Christabel was even angrier that the house help was all covered up while her little daughter, who slept beside her, was exposed.

She scolded Ifeoma, questioning what she was still doing in bed by that time. Ifeoma, in her defence, said she slept late and did not realise it was that late.

Christabel was not having Ifeoma's excuses and blasted her, saying she has been doing all the work despite having a househelp.

"My house help still sleeping by 9am in the morning is this right? Couldn’t even close my baby’s body," Christabel captioned her video which was heavily criticised.

3. Journalist shares inspiring progress of former deskmate

For the last two weeks, Baringo journalist John Macharia has been on a mission to transform the life of his former desk mate living on the streets.

Macharia and Eric Kipchumba were desk mates at Shimoni Primary School in Eldama Ravine back then, until the latter's life took a turn for the doldrums.

Kipchumba was in Form 3 when he developed mental problems and dropped out of school before ending up on the streets, wasted by life and substance abuse.

Touched by the turn of events, the kind media personality chose to rehabilitate his former friend and help him get his life back on track.

Macharia told TUKO.co.ke that he secured a go-ahead from Kipchumba's relatives to allow him to take the 34-year-old with him to Nairobi.

He shared inspiring photos of a better-looking, healthier, and happier Kipchumba dressed in well-cut suits.

Macharia revealed that he is working on getting the young man to go through a medical check-up and then work on getting him a house with beddings and other odds and ends.

4. Family unable to transport daughter's body to Mariakani

Neema Jumwa Karisa aged 10 years started the year with nagging health complications, forcing her to spend the better part of the year at Mariakani Sub-county Hospital.

Her health, however, deteriorated and her blood counts went down around May, which is how she was referred to Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) for further diagnosis and management.

Given that the parents are poor, two kindhearted philanthropists from the NHIF office in Mariakani came through and helped them move the girl to Nairobi.

One of the philanthropists, Jimia Abdul, told TUKO.co.ke that they managed to raise help via social media.

While in Nairobi, the family was accommodated by another well-wisher named Millicent who lives in Kariobangi North.

At KNH, Neema was diagnosed with Aplastic anaemia after it emerged that nothing much could be done other than managing her as her platelets were completely down.

"We used to raise blood appeals for people to donate blood for her every time, however, she succumbed on Thursday, August 10," Jimia said.

5. 46-year-old woman gives birth to triplets

A woman has publicly declared God's goodness upon her life after her joy was restored in good portion.

Margaret Namusisi was over the moon as she narrated her heartwarming story of welcoming three beautiful babies.

The happy mother of five said she welcomed adorable triplets to fill the hole left by her two sons almost two decades ago.

"I gave birth to my children at 20. We first had a baby girl, followed by another girl, and two boys. Unfortunately, I lost my sons. One died suddenly after birth, and the other passed away after completing university," she told NTV Uganda.

She desired to have many children, but after losing her two boys, her husband was sceptical about rushing things.

The couple slowed down as Namusisi "engaged in self-reflection and prayer to express my determination not to give up on the prospect of having more children."

TUKO.co.ke previously featured some top stories, including that of a Kikuyu grandmother who took TikTok by storm after displaying her rap skills.
