Roots Party leader George Luchiri Wajackoyah has promised to take care of baby Wajackoyah for one year.
The lawyer was thrilled after the Busia family stopped to greet him on their way from Sega Hospital eight hours after the baby was born.

According to him, his wife gave birth when the family was going through financial hardships. Omondi said he least expected the enormous support in the form of cash and baby gifts he got from Wajackoyah.
"Nobody has ever held my hand the way Wajackoyah did. He keeps calling to check on us. I only pray that God allows him to actualise the promises. He said he would support the baby for a year.
I was going through a lot then. I think when he posted my number, it went viral. People came in to help me, and luckily I was able to call back and thank them because Wajackoyah even sent me enough credit," he explained.
The father of two said the child brought a lot of luck to the family, which prompted them to nickname her 'Wajackoyah'.
Omondi recounts meeting Wajackoyah
Omondi said he met the politician by coincidence. However, something was strange. He had a wonderful feeling after recognising him from afar. Being his fan, he stopped the bike and went to greet him.
Fortunately, Wajackoyah had just made a stopover, and there was no crowd to hinder him from reaching the lawyer.
"It is like they had just stopped by. When I spotted him, I felt something. I immediately told my wife that the person I saw was Wajackoyah. She was like, 'Are you sure? Have you two met before?' I told her I support Wajackoyah on various platforms and was sure he was the one I saw. So I stopped the bike. My wife didn't alight because she was still delicate since she had just given birth," he said.
According to his narration, Wajackoyah was jovial and welcoming. He walked to the mother, who was still sitting on the bike, and requested to hold the newborn.
Earlier, Wajackoyah had indicated that he felt so blessed to carry the baby. Confirming his sentiments, Omondi revealed that the politician kept smiling at the baby and even promised to keep visiting them at their Bumala home from time to time.
"He was very happy to meet me. His company even thought we were family. After greeting him, he left me standing with his friend and rushed to Mama and asked if he could carry the baby, to which my wife agreed. He gave her some cash and even agreed to take photos," said Omondi.
Wajackoyah promises to employ Omondi
Unknown to Omondi was that the little courage he gathered to greet the prominent barrister would open his new experiences.
The boda boda operator, who is also a graduate of Siaya Institute of Technology with a certificate in purchasing and supply management, has not secured employment since his graduation in 2011.
"I have had a lot of life hurdles throughout my schooling and after completion. Since 2011, I have not been able to get a good job. But through prayers and hard work, I managed to get a motorbike from the daily hustles," he said.
Upon his request to Wajackoyah to help him get a job to fend for the young family, he immediately okayed the plea, promising to find him a job at the Busia county government.
What happened when he went back to work?
However, his work environment has never been the same. As per him, some colleagues and people known to him now treat him with a lot of bad blood, yet the promise of getting him a job has not borne fruit.
Moreover, he says that he still struggles with his daily hustle to survive the harsh economy.
"People find it funny when they see me riding a bike after my encounter with Wajackoyah. Some keep telling me how lucky I am to get a job and that Wajackoyah gave me millions, but I just keep quiet to avoid exchanging with them. I only pray that God allows him to actualise the promises. He is a good person," he explained.
