Juma's story began with tragedy, losing his mother at a tender age, leaving him and his three siblings to be raised by their grandparents.

Recounting the difficult times, Juma admitted:

"It has been tough ever since I lost my mum 24 years ago. Growing up with my grandparents has been hard, considering financial support..."

However, through the support of their maternal uncles and his mother's sister Martha, he found the strength to persevere.

Juma pursues course in engineering in Nairobi

With determination as his guiding light, Juma pursued an engineering career, pulling himself up from his modest beginnings.

He fondly recalled his days of study, living in a tin house and relying on a paraffin stove for his meals.

A pivotal moment came when his grandfather, or "guka," as he affectionately calls him, died in 2020 due to throat cancer.

Fulfilling his grandfather's last wish, Juma took it upon himself to ensure his grandmother's comfort.

"Today, I am an engineer by profession and able to take care of my grandmother, who is alive. In 2020 I lost guka due to throat cancer, so he requested me to take care of his "bae" which I am fully fulfilling his wish," he said.

Engineer builds his house, renovates grandma's

He invested in four plots of land, constructed a stunning holiday home in Busia County, and meticulously renovated his grandmother's dwelling, transforming it into a place of pride and solace.
