Members of the Beyond Barriers Ministries in Washington are rejoicing as they celebrate acquiring a new place of worship.

Speaking to Mkenya Marekani, a member of the church expressed their gratitude and extended a warm invitation to fellow Kenyans residing in the USA to join their congregation.

The Beyond Barriers Ministries, previously facing challenges due to a cramped location with limited facilities, has found a new home that promises greater comfort and space.

As seen in the video, the new church, aptly named The Mountain of the Lord, The Zion Sanctuary," was met with awe and appreciation by its congregation.

The change in surroundings was striking, with members describing the new location as spacious and beautiful in stark contrast to their previous small and limited setting.

The joyous occasion was marked by heartfelt prayers, scripture readings, and uplifting praise songs that resonated inside and outside the church.

Before the first service in the new location, the congregants gathered outside to celebrate with songs and dances, embodying their deep appreciation for the blessings they have received.

"I am very happy to be in this new sanctuary. We are starting today," shared a member of the church, reflecting the sense of excitement and renewal that the new space brings.
"Today is our first day. I am so happy to be among the first people that are starting today," he added.

The church's opening was graced by notable guests, and one of the church admins confirmed to TUKO.co.ke that Eunice Njeri led the congregation in a soul-stirring session of praise and worship.

Securing property abroad

The grandeur of the new church was evident as it featured a spacious podium and high-quality musical instruments.

Beyond the celebration, the acquisition of the new church marks a significant achievement for the Kenyan community in the United States.

The Beyond Barriers Ministries has become one of the few Kenyan congregations to secure a property in the US, signifying growth and permanence in their spiritual journey.

Earlier, Kenyans residing in Seattle came together to celebrate Madaraka Day, a significant holiday commemorating Kenya's attainment of self-governance.

The community organised a joyous festival to mark the occasion, showcasing their cultural heritage and fostering a sense of camaraderie among attendees.

The event, covered by Mkenya Marekani, was a lively affair filled with music, dance, and traditional performances that enthralled Kenyans and visitors alike.

Colourful Kenyan flags adorned the venue, creating a festive atmosphere, and according to the founder of the Madaraka Festival, Simon Okello, this was the ninth festival.
