Machakos - Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has lectured the Kamba community for allegedly blindly following former vice president Kalonzo Musyoka.
Speaking in Mwala, Machakos county, where he graced the burial of the area MP's mother, the deputy president asked the community to reconsider their support for the Wiper Democratic Movement party leader.
How Kalonzo misled Ukambani people
Gachagua wondered why the Kamba community has been following Kalonzo's political advice, yet they have never benefited.

The second in command asked leaders in the region to hold a meeting and chat the way forward for the community.
"Kamba are intelligent people. You must reconsider your support for Kalonzo. Kalonzo is taking you nowhere. If you find that he is taking you to the ditch, sit with the community and discuss because you have a responsibility to. When will this community ever be in government?" Gachagua posed.
Gachagua said the Kamba community could not keep complaining about the region's lack of development when they have allowed Kalonzo to take them to the opposition.
"You cannot keep on complaining about water every year, yet the table where water is discussed you are not there," he added.
He asked the community to follow in the footsteps of Mt Kenya region, which he said defied former president Uhuru Kenyatta and ended up having a large share of the Kenya Kwanza administration.
"You need to emulate Mt Kenya. You can't follow a leader blindly as he takes you to the ditch. Us we had Uhuru Kenyatta when he was the president; he told us to follow Raila, but we refused because he was taking us to the ditch. The community believed in us because we told them Uhuru was misleading us. That is why today I am the deputy president and the people of Mt Kenya have 10 CS and 15 PS," he stated.
Gachagua explained why bipartisan talks will fail
Speaking at the same event, the deputy president downplayed the ongoing talks between Kenya Kwanza Alliance and the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party.
According to him, the engagements are a decoy of self-pleasing expedients advanced behind the scenes by Azimio La Umoja leader Raila Odinga.
He alleged that Raila was 'sorted' in Mombasa in an unpublicized meeting.
The deputy president claimed that Raila approached Ruto for a share of government and ambassadorial posts, but all were in vain.
He revealed that Raila was instead offered an unmentioned amount of money on condition that he quit his anti-government politicking.
"There is nothing else he wants. He wanted a handshake and three ambassadorial posts, but we declined his demands. We told him if he wants some money then we can discuss," he said.
