During the last week of August, there was a mixture of inspiring and touching stories, one of them being that of a 30-year-old woman who wailed uncontrollably online for not being married.

The story of a who survived death after being shot three times and could not hide his joy when he got to see his daughter finally graduating from the university touched many.

1. 30-year-old lady cries uncontrollably for being unmarried

During the week, the story of a young Nigerian lady who cried bitterly online over being unmarried at the age of 30 went viral.

In a video shared via her TikTok account, she lamented that was yet to get a man to propose to her at her age.

A heartwrenching video captured her listening to a worship song while shedding hot tears despite having full makeup on her face.

She could be seen breaking down tears flowing down her cheeks while singing along to the song Alone by Neeja.

"Let my man come see me crying on TikTok," she captioned the video
"I've been listening to this song but this one hits me so hard. 30 years old. No husband, no child, no family yet", she further lamented.

2. Lady supports hubby with only KSh 800 to pay KSh 32k fees

As schools gear up to opening, a family man calculated the school fees of his children, and everything amounted to KSh 32,000.

The man told his wife about the fees and inquired if she had any contribution to make as their children prepared to resume studies.

To the man's disbelief, the woman told him that she was contributing KSh 800 to enable them to settle the bill.

According to the story told on Twitter by Pablo Hoggs, the woman owns a shop set up for her by her husband, and she also has a steady income.

The man was said to have asked help from his wife because he just had house rent which cost him KSh 64,000.

3. Japhet Koome meets 800m world athletics champion Mary Moraa

Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome expressed his pride in World Athletics Champion Mary Moraa after her exemplary display in the recently concluded championship in Budapest, Hungary.

The IG showered praises on the 800m Gold Medalist when the two met in his office at the police headquarters in Nairobi.

In a statement by the National Police Service, Koome waxed lyrical about Moraa, adding that she had made the police service proud.

The IG advised Corporal Moraa and her fellow NPS athletes to uphold discipline and shun malpractices, particularly doping.

Moraa, who joined the Administration Police Service as a Constable in 2021, currently serves under the Rapid Deployment Unit (RDU) responsible for emergency response to public disorders.

4. Cecily Mbarire denies claims blackout caused death of babies

Governor Cecily Mbarire lashed out at human rights activist Boniface Mwangi over his recent post that five babies died at Embu Level 5 Hospital due to the nationwide blackout.

Mwangi had not only written the initial story but also made an update to it, indicating that the number had risen to nine.

He questioned how many others had lost their lives countrywide because hospitals didn't have power backups or generators ran out of fuel.

In a quick rejoinder, the governor poured cold water on Mwangi's statement, referring to it as misleading and non-factual.

She shared a form from the aforementioned hospital showing data in which one premature baby (born at 21 weeks) succumbed in the last 48 hours.

5. Father who was shot 3 times overjoyed to see daughter graduate

In 2018, Kevin Lalchan thought his life had come to an end after he was attacked by robbers and shot three times.

It was an incident that made his mind have flashing images of the things he would miss in the future if he died that day.

As he stared down the barrel of a gun, he wondered whether he would live to see his daughter Jewel grow old enough to join the university.

According to CNC3 Television, Trinidad and Tobago, death may have knocked on his door, but Kevin’s guardian angel was watching.

“I put my hand here and blocked my face, then I kept telling them not to shoot because I had a daughter,” he recalled.

The bullets tore into his legs and impaired his mobility, making it impossible for him to walk again.
