Tanzania emerged seventh and 63rd globally, while Rwanda emerged 18th and took 107th globally.

Nigeria emerged 28th globally, while Ghana took the 41st spot.

"Men’s English caught up to women’s in Africa for the first time this year, but the regional average masks the fact that a majority of countries still have a significant gender gap (over 20 points). Ethiopia, Nigeria, Rwanda and Ghana have among the widest gender gaps in the world in favor of women, while Uganda and Tunisia have among the widest in favor of men," read part of the report.

Kenyans and Ugandans have always been debating on who between the two East African countries speaks better English.

A year ago, a report by CCJK indicated Uganda was the best English-speaking country, followed by South Africa and Nigeria.

Kenya emerged fourth on the list, which sparked a heated debate online as each African country boasted of harnessing the queen's language.
