Meru governor Kawira Mwangaza has sparked debate after her latest antics in honour of her husband, Murega Baichu.
What job did Mwangaza give hubby?
The county boss was almost impeached in 2022 after her unwavering love for her musician husband landed her in hot water with MCAs.
In September last year, Mwangaza appointed Murega as the Meru Youth Service's patron and also the ambassador for the Meru hustlers.

While making the appointment, the governor said her husband would not earn any salary for his tasks.
"The first gentleman of Meru county currently holds the ambassadorial role by the Ministry of Tourism, and when you see him there, he is an apostle.
Today, we are giving him a job without pay and allowances. He will be a volunteer in the docket of Meru Youth Service," Mwanganza said.
Mwangaza, who floored Kiraitu Murungi and Mithika Linturi, said her husband would report directly to her.
"I have also given him another powerful role as Meru hustlers ambassador. He will be reporting to the governor, so when you see him with his cap at the governor's office, just know he will be representing the hustlers," she added.
She survived the impeachment motion and has now named a road after Murega.
Murega Baichu Road unveiled?
On Saturday, September 2, Mwangaza posted images of a recently renovated road under her jurisdiction. She then seemingly declared that it had been named after her better half.
"Murega Biachu Road," she wrote.
Her sentiments elicited mixed reactions from Meru residents:
Helna Quin:
“I miss Kiraitu Murungu, though I didn't vote for him.”
Harun Muriuki:
“Where did we go wrong?”
Purity Sambi:
“Finally, our road is good.”
Frodah Kiende John:
“You said it is which road?”
Felicity Gakii:
“Good job.”
